SUMMIT COUNTY PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS

Most of us want a place and a way in which to make the world a better place. That's what Summit County Progressive Democrats is all about. We may not always win but we are out there working for progressive change, day-in and day-out. If you are looking for an organization that cares and is organized, join us and get active.

 

We work on:

  • Issues that effect the quality of life for all people
  • Getting progressive candidates elected at the local, state and national level through work in our Summit County Progressive Democrats PAC

 

We work through:

  • Standing committees that deal with Communication, Issues and Education, Outreach, Leadership Development and Finance
  • Ad hoc project committees

 

We provide member training in:

  • Contacting your legislators and other elected officials
  • Leadership Development
  • Public Speaking
  • Running for Political Office
  • Building an Infrastructure Within the County
  • Pushing for Progressive Change
  • Getting Out the Vote
  • Canvassing Skills
  • Phone Banking Skills
  • Mentoring the Next Generation of Leaders
  • Planning and Implementing a Project
  • Writing Effective Letters-to-the-Editor
  • Working with the Press to Promote Our Goals

We ask our members to consider:

  • Joining a committee
  • Joining an Issues Team
  • Serving as elected officers
  • Working for candidates
  • Working for issues
  • Helping out whenever they can in ways that are comfortable for them
  • Getting training from us to be even more effective

Join SCPD PAC on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 6:30 pm in meeting room 2 of the Main Akron Public Library, 60 South High Street.
